Hamish Greig

Director - Golf Operations

Hamish began his broadcasting career in 1973 with BBC Scotland in his hometown of Edinburgh. His international journey took him to Gibraltar with GBC (1975–1982), followed by South Africa’s SABC (1982–1986), before relocating to London to join CTV in 1986. Starting as a vision engineer, Hamish steadily progressed through the company, becoming Director of Engineering in 1996. In that role, he led technical strategy, budgeting, and delivery – aligning engineering excellence with client and commercial objectives.

In January 2018, Hamish was appointed CEO of CTV, a position he held until June 2023 when he took on the role of Director of Golf Operations.

Hamish has been at the forefront of golf broadcasting for over three decades. His first Open Championship was in 1988, and since then, he’s played a key role in the delivery of some of the sport’s most iconic events. Under his leadership, Gravity Media has been a trusted production partner for the European and DP World Tours, starting with the first-ever live golf broadcast from Stockholm in 1991. His team has delivered coverage across Asia, the Middle East, the Americas (including multiple Ryder Cups), and throughout Europe.

Since 2016, Gravity Media has proudly served as the Host Broadcaster for The Open Championship, a role that complements its broader on-site broadcast support for partners around the globe. Hamish continues to bring passion, precision, and deep industry knowledge to every tee, fairway, and final putt – a dedication that remains as strong today as it was on his first Open
